HELI SKI ALASKA - The stuff legends are made of!

For the passionate skier absolutely nothing surpasses heli skiing.  An average day consists of 8 -10 runs of unbelievable untouched powder skiing, with a bunch of like-minded people. You then re-live the day in the lodge or the hot tub over a few pints.  It truly is the pinnacle of skiing!

There are several heli ski operations in Alaska.  The ones we use are chosen because they offer fantastic value, excellent fly/stay deals and have excellent reputations.

Heli skiing in Alaska is extremely weather dependent and you’re bound to get at least one no fly day!  Choosing an operator who works your package on helicopter time or guaranteed vertical feet is the way to go! This means you’re not paying for heli time that you can’t use.

POINTS NORTH HELI-SKI

Possibly the best value heli operation in Alaska with a basic yet comfortable lodge. Points North has a dedicated, loyal, fan base of clients.

A 7 day package includes 4 hours heli time, all meals, transport from Cordova airport, safety equipment and accommodation on a twin share basis in a rustic comfortable lodge which used to be a salmon cannery.

Packages from US$ 6,375 per person

CHUGACH POWDER GUIDES

Based in Girdwood, right out of Hotel Alyeska, Chugach Powder Guides offer day heli-skiing or a 4 day package. The advantage of this is that you can ski Alyeska Ski Resort on “no fly” days! There is also the option of cat skiing on down days too. The disadvantage is you miss out on the lodge style experience where you get to mix with a bunch of hard core skiers.

Day trips start at US$ 1,275 per person twin share (standby).  4 day packages start at US$ 5,900 per person, twin share and US$ 6,300 single

VALDEZ HELI-SKI GUIDES

Valdez Heli Ski guides are based in the Thompson Pass area of the famous Chugach Mountains. This range commonly has more than 25 meters of snow per year! Heli-skiing with Valdez Heli-Ski Guides, face shots are a given, in fact you’ll probably need a really long snorkel!

This operation is famous for skiing some steeper lines and as pioneers of Alaskan Heli-skiing they have the experience and terrain to keep even the keenest powder hound happy.

Accommodation is in a comfortable historic lodge and 7 day packages include 4.2 hours of heli time, safety gear, lunch and transfers from Valdez airport. Lodging and food is on top of this.

7 night packages start at US$ 5,900 per person
